Deputy Administration Manager- NHS Team

Are you an experienced administration manager looking for your next move?

Ascenti work to provide high quality physiotherapy and healthcare services to thousands of NHS patients nationwide.

You will be responsible for motivating a team of 20 NHS Administrators all working to deliver a range of admin duties, such as speaking with GPs, patients and ensuring that files are created swiftly and accurately when patients are referred to us for treatment.

Working alongside the Administration Manager, you will foster a great team dynamic, focused on achieving the highest standards possible for our patients and NHS partners. 

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure all basic HR functions are completed and documented in a timely manner and assist the Manager with more complex matters.
  • Ensure a consistent and fair approach is delivered across all teams in relation to managing performance.
  • Develop and oversee team performance with the assistance of Section Leaders.
  • Assist with complaints and be actively involved in trend analysis.
  • Manage workloads through varying systems, including Queue Manager to ensure departmental SLAs are met.
  • Monitor instruction levels and highlight any trends or concerns to the Manager.
  • Able to deputise for the manager in their absence.
  • Any ad hoc task deemed necessary by the Manager.


Essential experience and skills

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent knowledge of all aspects the NHS Administration workflows.
  • Hold a strong knowledge of all NHS IT systems, including but not limited to: EMIS & e-RS.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills.
  • Possesses and demonstrates a positive attitude.
  • Displays leadership qualities and sets an example to the team by demonstrating core values.
  • Able to liaise to all levels of the Management team effectively.
  • Professional in approach at all times.
  • Adaptable and flexible to change/new challenges.
  • Able to demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Dependable, reliable with a strong solution focused approach.
  • Motivate to grow and learn.
  • High levels of accuracy.
  • Good command of English language, spoken and written.
  • Ability to supervise and forecast effectively.
  • Results driven with a sense of urgency, enthusiasm and drive to meet targets/deadlines.
  • Excellent IT Skills.
