Central London - More about the area

Patient caseload

Working in the city means you will have a varied caseload. In-particular you will see a lot of private patients who pay for their own treatment or through Private Medical Insurers such as Vitality. The team also work on an NHS contract across Haringey and Occupational Health contracts that involve visiting offices for desk-based assessments.

The clinics

Some of Ascenti’s premium clinics are in this area and are situated near some of London’s famous landmarks such as London Bridge. There are over 20 clinics, some of which have multiple rooms meaning you can work alongside a peer. The area completes over 3,400 appointments every month from these clinics, virtually and off-site for some Occupational Health contracts.

The team

You will join a team of 19 physiotherapists who have a range of experience. You will get to meet with your manager, peers, and Clinical Development Team virtually and in-person on a regular basis. As the area is geographically small with many clinics just a short tube trip away from each other, the team regularly meet up for social events and even compete against the other London teams in charity sport days.

About your manager

Qualifying as a physiotherapist from University of Birmingham in June 2013, Will Humphrey joined Ascenti in September 2013 as a locum physio. What attracted Will to Ascenti was the development opportunities and the 121-support available.

From 2014 Will started his career in mentoring and by 2016 began his journey in management.
Will lives in South London so is able to meet with his team face-to-face at clinic for group meetings, training, and social events.

"As an Area Manager, my goal is to help individuals develop in their role. I enjoy seeing the physiotherapists in my team progress in their career.”

The Central London Clinical Development Team

All areas have a Physiotherapy Development Lead and Clinical Mentors that will support you in your development. In Central London there are three mentors, and you will be assigned a mentor when you start. You will have a lot of contact with your PDL and Clinical Mentor virtually and in-person.

"My role is to facilitate the clinical development of clinicians in Central London as well as oversee and develop our Clinical Mentors. I enjoy seeing the physios confidently develop and flourish in their roles."
