Wednesday 9 January marked the official launch of Ascenti’s new ‘Central Lancashire Moving Well’ service in partnership with Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, which will help to improve the health of people living with rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders across the district.
The new service is expected to see around 2,500 new patients every month and is focused on prevention and early intervention, with close working between teams dealing with community physiotherapy, rheumatology, musculoskeletal issues, chronic fatigue and persistent pain.
CEO of Ascenti, Stephanie Dobrikova, said: “It is a great milestone to have launched the Central Lancashire Moving Well service following much preparation and close working with our NHS partners and the local community.
“Alongside providing a more joined-up approach for patients, the service offers improved access and innovative use of technology, for example through our online patient resources and self-referral pathway. Our team of 20 physiotherapists and eight Extended Scope Practitioners are delivering the new service and enabling more local people to elevate their health.”
Members of the public can easily refer themselves for treatment without having to see a GP by completing an online form or calling a dedicated telephone line.
