Over the last five years we have grown to be a well-established and highly-regarded healthcare company, maintaining partnerships with 14 NHS integrated care boards (ICBs) and delivering services on behalf of all major UK private medical insurance (PMI) providers as well as leading occupational health outsourcers.
We have become true pioneers within physiotherapy. Since launching Ascenti, we’ve developed online booking functionality, virtual consultations, bespoke digital triage tools, and own the most widely used MSK app in the UK with over 220,000 people having accessed the Ascenti Physio app to support their recovery. More recently, we launched Ascenti Reach, an innovative guided self-management app, developed in-house by our own tech team, Ascenti Digital.
This digital expertise meant we were in a strong position to cope with the unprecedented challenges posed by Covid-19. In March 2020, we pivoted our entire MSK delivery to an online model overnight, delivering over 1,500 virtual appointments on the first day of lockdown. According to one patient, Ascenti became ‘a lifeline’, while we were also lauded as a ‘superhero firm’ by The Guardian for offering free online physio appointments to NHS workers and over-65s during the pandemic.
In recent years Ascenti has been shortlisted for 35 corporate awards and has won 10, including the LaingBuisson award for Excellence in Training in 2019, and both Primary Care Provider of the Year and IT Innovator of the Year at the HealthInvestor Awards 2022.
Notable commercial achievements include completing the acquisition of a Danish technology business in 2021 and Six Physio, a renowned private physiotherapy company based in London, the following year, as well as securing over 95 new contracts.
The last five years has seen us open a high-spec flagship clinic in Edgbaston, a new corporate hub in central Bristol and our first clinic outside of Great Britain in Belfast, which has added to Ascenti’s portfolio of premises across the UK, with coverage extending from St Ives to Dunfermline.
While under our new name, the business has developed a dynamic and united culture across its dispersed workforce of 800 employees, by amplifying employee voices and engaging staff in important conversations around diversity, equity and inclusion, raising over £10,000 for various charity partners including The MS Society, Mind and Macmillan, and hosting well-attended company events both in-person and online.
