Ascenti has acquired My Online Therapy, a pioneering mental health technology company which offers virtual psychology and counselling services through a popular smartphone app.
The acquisition of My Online Therapy is Ascenti’s third acquisition in recent years, following the purchase of a Danish technology business, Reach, in 2021, and renowned London-based private physiotherapy company, Six Physio, in 2022.

My Online Therapy is the UK’s first ‘virtual psychology clinic’ and provides access to therapies by matching users to the most appropriate therapeutic approach and the best therapist for their situation. Once a user selects the way they want to connect with the psychologist and receive therapy, they have three communication options: video, live chat, or daily messaging.
Stephanie added: “We are renowned for our leading MSK physiotherapy provision but are also a well-established provider of mental wellbeing services, with over 25 years of experience and having managed more than 20,000 patients to date.
“Our growing in-house mental health team are very excited about the recent acquisition. This move will accelerate our strategic ambitions in the mental wellbeing space and help us to replicate the success of our virtual physiotherapy services.”
Ascenti’s mental health services are delivered by their own in-house team and a robustly-governed panel. The company has a growing team of employed CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) therapists, EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy) therapists and psychologists, allowing the business to manage up to 80% of mental health referrals in-house.
Ascenti has experienced significant growth since it secured investment from private equity firm bd-capital in 2021. The company now employs over 800 staff and has a strong footprint across the UK, operating as one of the nation’s most trusted independent healthcare providers to public and private sectors.
