Every year Ascenti ask their staff to suggest and vote for a charity partner, and in recent years has raised more than £10,000 through challenges like sky dives and the Three Peaks.
Since launching the partnership with Samaritans in early June 2021, staff have taken part in a 24-hour gameathon and some are preparing to take part in the charity’s annual event Samarathon; a challenge that will see staff walking, jogging, or running a marathon in July.
CEO, Stephanie Dobrikova, said: “We are proud to be partnering with Samaritans this year and that our staff suggested and voted for such a good cause.”
“Last year our business grew our mental health service offering, which is now delivered by Ascenti employees who are part of our mental health team, so it feels great to be support a charity with a shared purpose.”
Every day, Samaritans volunteers respond to around 10,000 calls for help, and in 2020 they spent over one million hours responding to calls for help.
Matt Lock, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Samaritans, said: “There’s no doubt that these uncertain and challenging times can affect our mental health and wellbeing.
“Samaritans is a critical service, needed now more than ever. We are thrilled that Ascenti has chosen to support us as their charity partner.
“The funds raised through our partnership will help ensure that we can be there day and night for anyone who needs someone. In this time like no other, your support means more than ever.”
Ascenti directly employees more than 600 staff and the business is hoping for an impactful year of fundraising, with an end target of £5,000.
