Excess FAQs

If your treatment is being arranged with private medical insurance, you may be required to pay an excess. Find out answers to our frequently asked questions about excess payments here.

Who are Ascenti?

Ascenti is a national healthcare company that is recognised by all major private medical insurance providers, including Vitality, Bupa and AXA.

What is an excess?

An excess is a pre-agreed contribution on an insurance plan which is payable once any bills are received for your treatment. The insurance provider is then liable for the remaining amount, up to the authorised session limit.

You should be able to check your plan benefits and any excess which may apply on your insurance provider's online portal, or by giving them a call.

Why am I being asked to pay an excess?

We have issued an invoice to your insurance provider who has advised us the amount is payable by yourself as per your plan terms and conditions.

To check your plan benefits and any excess which may apply, please visit your insurance provider's online portal, or give them a call.

How can I pay my bill?

Please locate the payment link on the reminder email that we have sent you.

What do I do if I don't agree with this decision?

Please contact your insurance provider for any questions relating to your excess amount.

Please also let Ascenti know that you are querying this, so that we can note your account.

What if my insurance provider has advised that no excess is owed?

Please forward this confirmation to us, so that we can note your account and contact your insurance provider for payment.

What if my insurance is covered by my employer?

You may still be required to pay an excess. Please check your policy or speak to your insurance provider to check your plan benefits and any excess requirements.
