Biomechanics & orthotics
Few of us are perfectly formed and symmetrical. Most of the time our small quirks go unnoticed, but sometimes they can lead to injury and problems.
Biomechanics is the study of how the body functions as a whole. This includes the mechanics of how your muscles, bones and nervous system work together to complete everyday tasks, such as walking or sitting down.
Your physiotherapist may carry out a short biomechanical assessment and recommend making adjustments, for example improving your posture or using orthotics to correct the alignment of your body.
