Your purpose

Area Managers play a key role at Ascenti, managing and leading performance of our Physiotherapy network. You will work to ensure outstanding clinical quality and patient experience underpinned by the delivery of operational excellence, helping us to progress our ambitions for the future.

You will have the responsibility of leading and growing your team and area performance to support Ascenti’s journey into future delivery MSK services in the UK.

How your role fits within our team

As an Area Manager you will direct and manage a team of physiotherapists. Supported by your team of Senior Clinicians, and with a people first culture that aligns to our business, you will ensure that our Physiotherapists maintain engagement, enjoyment and learning through clinical development and operational excellence, with a focus on staff wellbeing. With support from our People Team and Resource Management you will identify and direct recruitment and growth within your area.

Formal authority and hierarchy doesn’t appeal to you. You know that the best way to lead a team of physiotherapists, is to respect their clinical opinion, collaborate, and support them when they need your help. You will develop meaningful working relationships within your team, regularly reviewing their performance, listening to their feedback, coaching them to improve and celebrating their successes.

You will naturally take accountability and be ready to motivate and lead your team members to deliver excellence, ensuring you have the right blend of skills across your team. This will mean supporting physiotherapists to achieve their ambitions, managing performance consistently and fairly, and working to achieve agreed Key Performance Indicators and Quality Metrics. Above all, you will celebrate diversity and create an environment where your team feel able to bring their true selves to work.

As an Area Manager, you will work 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. Your will work remotely and travel to clinics and other locations on occasion.

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience 

  • Sound understanding of leadership principles, managing resources and budgets, leading teams and providing high standards of customer care.
  • Good computer literacy and IT skills – particularly working with Microsoft Office and bespoke systems
  • Appreciation of ethical obligations in physiotherapy/healthcare, with a strong sense of professional integrity.
  • Experience of line management and team development of a specialist team of practitioners.
  • Experience implementing project plans, corporate goals/objectives, sustainability activities, etc.
  • Experience working in an environment of ongoing change
